The Firdaws Connection was built after years of seeing the same conversation repeat itself across the Muslim women Folu Umm Abdullah worked with.
A sharp, capable woman, working hard, doing everything right, sits down and says some version of the same sentence:
“I want to build something. I want to grow. But I don’t know how to do it without compromising something I care about.”
Sometimes it’s her deen. Sometimes it’s her standards. Sometimes it’s the kind of work she said she’d never do — careers that push the Islamic boundaries, business advice that requires being visibly online, financial products that promote riba.
And then she adds the part that breaks the room:
“And I don’t know anyone else who even thinks about this stuff.”
That loneliness is the silent killer of ambition. And it’s the moment The Firdaws Connection was built to fix.
